At the moment I do not have too much time keeping track of my favorite blogs. I try not to have too many of them because too many feeds just do not fit into the time I have. However, the blogs that I have selected, produce so much that it is too intimidating (click on the picture to see the 467 unread...) to open my Feedreader. And when I do I simply close it again as not to be confronted with so much, too much information.
What does that mean? Is it overkill on the part of the productive blogger? Are they becoming ineffective because of it? Or should I have a different approach or strategy? Fewer blogs I subscribe to?
Suggestions anyone?
I have a suggestion for you. Read less, think more.
Like you, I read a lot about marketing. I have read your blog through (every post) but I have seen you comment things other people have written about. Where are your own thoughts? I would have liked to read about that too.
Hope your thesis came out fine at the end. I haven't read any post about it.
A hello, from Peru and take care.

Hi Tedel,
Thanks for the comment and your suggestion. I think however, that your suggestion is based on the assumption that I read a lot about marketing. I really don't. I just read blogs, until last summer that is. As to books and articles I have moved on to other topics a long time ago.
As to the commenting on others that is a way to interact with other on the net and use backtracking. Doing that I try to generate other thoughts on the topic at hand and test my own assumptions on the topic too.
Although I know you mean well I find it a bit insulting that you say "where are your own thoughts". To be able to analyze the ideas of others requires thought. I am an organization & management philosopher. I cannot not think.
Also if you read my posts my thoughts on topics are there for anyone to see (and some have commented on them favorably). So I am assuming that somehow I have not been able to convey my thoughts to you:-(

Hi. Good question.
I have two approaches.
One approach is to get to the bottom of a particular issue: social media, for example, or a particular subject in social media and absorb what I can, from wherever I can, and get to the bottom of that subject. Building up a kind of structure of themes that are both linked and independent of each other.
The other approach is to pick up new ideas by just reading my favoruite blogs as well as casually browsing for new blogs - randomly as well as objectively. The important point I think is not to spread your reading too much (unless you are specifically looking for ideas in general).
So: to build up your information in lego-like fashion as well as collecting a smorgasbord of new / interesting ideas with which to play around with, creatively.
Hope this helps!
Useful and interesting blog you have by the way.
